Protectionist Tendencies

I read an interesting article in the Financial Times about the current paranoia the US has about losing jobs to Asia. You think? Why would be scared about losing jobs to a country whose workers are willing to work for just about anything when ours demand diamond-encrusted toilet flanges? As the article says--Clinton and HW Bush had it right: suck it up and don't resort to closing off with these places. Soon they'll be more powerful than us and we'll need them to come protect us against mean, bullying countries.
