Baby Tax

Fortunately, because I only have two kids (with no desire for more), I would exempt from the proposed baby tax. Because I'm a parent you might think I would be vehemently opposed to this but in reality I think it's a fantastic idea. Anything that would help curb the amount of babies would be wonderful in my opinion.

My wife and I are both in our early 30s and we're in a financial position that if we wanted more kids we could probably afford both them and their proposed taxes. Since the proposal would start at child #3, I don't think it would really do anything more than ensure only people in financially-capable homes are having excess children. I hate to say it, but let's face it--children coming from financially stable homes are, I'm guessing since I've seen no formal stats, more likely to do well throughout their childhood.

I actually had a problem with my taxes last year. I was hurt and was put on FMLA. After being on that for 2 months I guess I didn't have my taxes taken out of my weekly checks. So I guess I owe money now...right?
