What is the median US income?

In 2006, the median US income was $48,201 per individual. Score! I'm finally above average at something. Maybe I can put our two year old and our six year old to work and boost our household income even further? Anyone need some mess-making done?

Except that's the *median*, not the mean. The mean is the average, which was $66,570 in 2006.
