Foreclosure Suicide

In some sad news, a man committed suicide after not being able to pay his mortgage. While that is definitely sad what is even more saddening is the fact the police had to be called in to "battle" him. I guess my feeling on suicide is one of: if you're going to do it, go for it but leave everyone else out of it. I'm sorry your life is so sad you feel that this is the only way out. Please though, don't kill yourself in such a way that it affects other people. Being selfish is fine, but do it within normal limits.

Anyway, I'm sure he is not a unique case. With record numbers of foreclosure I fear that we might begin hearing similar stories with more regularity.

We're keeping track of foreclosure suicides in Greenspan's Body Count.

I understand we have had a few suicides in our area and a week later their home in the paper for forclosure. Its pretty sad the govt has all this money in bailouts but it is not availible for our people to refinance into a better situation. I have been all week trying to refinance our house that is in foreclosure and we get awnsers like there is nothing we can do because of your lates. Im am busting my ass to save my home so my 3 children are not living on the street.

What a piece of crap you are to call him selfish. He didn't ask the police to come in and help the bank steal his home. Do you know his circumstances? This country is ran by the devil and the devil came after him...may you burn in hell!

In the bailout it was "Banks First" and then consumers. That is not what happened in the 1930's. We live in a plutocracy now, our nation has been fleeced, and our democracy has been gutted, while banks make record profits. The IndyMac sweetheart deal, illustrated so well on this YouTube clip, tells you why banks would rather throw millions into the streets than to modify. What a cruel joke. http://www.youtube.com/user/fiercefreeleancer
